Drei Engel für Benny - Benny´s Angels

Als extremes Kontrastprogramm zur Karibik, war das letzte Ziel meiner Reise das kalte und winterliche Schweden: Schnee statt Sand, gefrorene Flüsse statt Meer, Sauna statt kalter Dusche, High-Tech statt Handeln mit Kleingeld am Markt und blonde Schwedinnen statt dunklen Latinas.

To get a contrast to the Carribean Islands and to get used to the cold weather, I went to Sweden for a few days and visited Chrissy. It´s a different world here for me: Instead of beach and sea, there is snow and frozen rivers, saunas instead of cold showers, Swedish girls and no Latinas and a lot of high-tech.

Chrissy had to work really hard to get me out of the comfortable warm room into the cold snow nature of Sweden brr… but she finally managed it and showed me quite a lot of Stockholm and the culture here. We even took a ride on a ferryboat in-between the Stockholm islands.

Ich habe Chrissy besucht, die in Stockholm ihren Erasmus Aufenthalt verbringt. Sie hat hart daran gearbeitet, mich aus dem warmen Zimmer in die kalte Schneelandschaft zu ziehen und mir in der recht kurzen Zeit, die ich´s draußen ausgehalten habe, recht viel von Stockholm und Schweden gezeigt. Sogar ein paar Meter Fähre sind wir gefahren zwischen zwei Stockholm Inseln.

Hier sieht man Schweden von oben. Herrliche Aussicht! 

Ein Highlight für mich war die Sauna am Unicampus, die man sich kostenlos reservieren kann. Als Abhärtung gab es zwischen den Gängen Schneeschlachten und coole Winterfotos in Badehose.

One of the best parts of my stay was the sauna on the campus area. To get strong enough to face the German winter, we jumped into the snow a few times, including some snow fights and of course funny pictures.

 















 



There is a German song which tells about a student from Uppsala. After seeing that this town really exists quite close to Stockholm I wanted to go there.
It is actually a nice student town. We visited the dome and I was really shocked by the Swedish technology. There is honestly a machine for the collection after the church service or for “light a candle”. I couldn´t believe it. Of course, you have to pay with card; there is no option for using cash. Why should there tsss…
Ein Tageausflug nach Uppsala hat uns einen (bisher) 3 Tage langen  Ohrwurm eingebracht. „Ein Student aus Uppsala lala lalalalala lalalalala“…. Wie? Ihr kennt das nicht? Glaub ich nicht; hier der Link.

Uppsala ist tatsächlich eine Studentenstadt und schön dazu. Geschockt hat mich allerdings die Technik hier in Schweden. Im Dom kann man (wie in anderen Kirchen auch) kleine Kerzen anzünden und dann Geld spenden. Allerdings erfolgt dies nicht wie gewohnt, mit Kleingeld und einer Box, sondern mit Kreditkarte (kein Bargeld möglich!) am „Kollektomaten“. Ernsthaft.

Chrissy hat mir erzählt, dass man am überlegen ist in Schweden nur noch Kartenzahlungen zuzulassen und das Bargeld abzuschafft. Wahrscheinlich hat dann jeder Straßenmusiker und –bettler seinen eigenen Kreditkartenleser dabei.. :-)
Auf meinem Heimflug hatte ich WiFi an Board. Was ist bitte passiert im letzten halben Jahr, was hab ich alles verpasst an technischen Neuheiten?

Chrissy told me about the government thinking about removing all the cash and only use payment with a card all over the country. I guess every street musician and beggar would have to have his own credit card payment device :-)
On my way back to Munich I had WiFi on board. High-Tech nonstop here in Europe. Seriously, what did I miss the last 6 months during my journey?

Seit ein paar Stunden bin ich zurück in Deutschland, das nach meinem Stopover in Schweden nicht mal soo kalt wirkt. Hab gleich bei der Ankungt mein Zwickl und nen Wurstsalat bekommen. Danke!! :-)
