El Paraíso - Oh wie schön ist Kuna Yala

Wow, the last days were just amazing!!! I finally made to the the Carribean Sea, Islands, Coconuts, ... but before that I made I short trip north to Portobelo, a small fisher village, which provides an interesting history, church, fortress and now even a new geocache :-)

Puuhhh, die letzten Tage waren.. unbeschreiblich!
Mein erster Ausflug war gen Norden, nach Portobelo. Natürlich war diese Fahrt im typischen Stadt-/ und Kurzreisebus, dem Schulbus, den ich schon im lezten Eintrag gezeigt habe. Hier ist nochmal ein Bild vom Busbahnhof.... ich find diese Teile sooo geil! Und nen geilen Sound machen sie auch. Außerdem bestimmt der Busfahrer die Musik, was meist auf Reggeaton oder Salsa oder Bachata hinaus lauft. Seine CD läuft dann die ganze 1.5h Fahrt in voller Lautstärke! Ich finds toll! :-)

With such a bus you make the 2-3 hours drive: I love them. The sound, the look, the feeling. The driver chooses the music, which usually is salsa, bachata, .. and it´s that loud that you almost cannot talk to your neighbor anymore.

Angekommen in Portobelo war ich erstmal total enttäuscht.. es hat die ganze Zeit geregnet, das so genannte Hostel war kein Hostel sondern ein Restaurant mit paar Betten und komischen Leuten. Nachdem ich dann 11 Stunden durchgeschlafen habe aus Langeweile, konnte ich am Vormittag endlich auf Tour gehen, das war dann doch ganz gut. Und aufgepasst, Steffi, Anna, Urbs und alle anderen Geocacher, bald gibt´s dort einen Geocache und der FTF ist noch zu holen!! :-)
Hier geht´s hoch zur Festung (klein oben am Berg) bzw. rein zum Cache:

Außerdem gibt es hier eine sehr bekannte Kirche, die Kirche des schwarzen Jesus (links im Bild):

So, und nun wird’s karibisch, mein nächster Ausflug war nämlich nach San Blas, ins Kuna Yala Land auf die Insel Senidup. Die Kunas sind eine eigenständige und unabhängig Komune über die ich jetzt seitenweise schreiben könnte. Kurz: Die Kultur, der Spirit, der Glaube, die Naturbezogenheit aber im Kontrast dazu auch ihre Weltoffenheit und der Bezug zur „realen wirtschaftlichen Welt“ sind total interessant, ja schon fast vorbildhaft! Ja, ich weiß, das ist für euch gerade nur bla bla.. also gibt´s jetzt endlich Karibikfotos! :-)

and now... it´s gonna be exciiiiting! I´m in paradise! Seriously, it feels like paradies. I visited the islands of San Blas in the land of Kuna Yala. They have their own independant country inside of Panama, their own law which makes certain things not forbidden to grow and own, their special spririt, believe relation to nature. Amazing people!

Hier sind wir zu unseren Insel gefahren. Es gibt wohl 365 davon, von klein bis groß. Die kleinste hat genau eine Palme :-) Auf einer kleinen Tour haben wir mehrere  besichtigt und waren schnorcheln.

On the way to "our" island: I was living there with only a few Kunas and some backpackers for 3 nights. The last day I was the only non-Kuna, which resulted in good conversation with the Kuna people: great experience!

On a trip around the area, we visited several islands (there are 365 they say, each for every day). One of them only has one palm tree :) I wanted to go there and take a picture, sitting in the shade of the tree with two girls next to me, feeding me with fruits and holding palm tree leaves.. but unfortunatelly we didn´t stop at the island :-(

Abends wurde zusammen gegessen, getrunken, gefeiert, getanzt, ..

Party with backpackers and Kunas. I cannot really remember why, but I loved this coco and took it with me on every picture..

..and as a pillow for the night. I actually wanted to sleep there, but it started to rain...

Zum Essen gab´s täglich frisch gefangenen Fisch und Meeresfrüchte. Traumhaft! Für Zwischendurch konnte man sich Kokosnüsse kaufen, frisch von der Palme sozusagen.

Between the delicious see food meals, which were provided by the Kunas, we could buy and drink/eat fresh coconuts, the number one export product of Kuna Yala.

  
Ich hätte das Ganze nur zu gern mit jemandem von zu Hause geteilt. Wann kommt denn endlich mal der erste Besuch, damit ich einen Grund habe, nochmal auf die Insel zu fahren? :-)

So, what do you say? Is that paradies or paradies? Come and visit me, I´d love to go to the island again!!

Now I´m already in David, where I´m gonna work the next 7 weeks. Tomorrow is my first day at work.

Jetzt bin ich wieder zurück in der Zivilisation. Ich bin nun mittlerweilen in David und morgen ist mein erster Arbeitstag.
